Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)`s Aesthetic Medicine Effect by Microneedle Transdermal Drug Delivery System
Kim Sung-Jun

Abstract
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) has important functions of skin recovery and repair. It promotes activation of fibroblast division and transfer of epithelial cell interacting with EGF receptor that exists in epithelial cell and fibroblast. When skin is damaged, EGF treats it with promoting division and transfer of epithelial cell. Wrinkle repair and skin elasticity are the functions in the skin of EGF that occur as the regeneration promotion effect in epidermis materializes. Microneedle has transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) that secures the drug`s mobile course, and helps the absorption of EGF and the inducement of its functions that ensure effective treatment and regeneration of skin. EGF`s effect using microneedle is available due to the stimulating microcirculatory competence unit, neurovegetative competence unit, immune competence unit, and fundamental competence unit that exist in the basal layer or in its surrounding area. The EGF effect using transdermal drug delivery system of microneedle is effective for aesthetic skin medicine.
